Ik ben opgegroeid in een creatief gezin. Vader was leraar maar vooral kunstschilder en ik ben van jongs af aan creatief bezig.Toen ik 18 was, en het fototoestel van mijn vader mocht lenen, ben ik gestart met fotografie. En ik ben niet meer gestopt…

Ondanks een opleiding als leraar wetenschappen heeft fotografie mijn leven bepaalt. Na 25 jaar in een fotozaak te werken, heb ik 15 jaar fotografieles gegeven in het volwassenenonderwijs. In vele verenigingen heb ik ook cursussen fotografie ingericht. Ook de fotovereniging Focus8 vzw heb ik mee opgericht.

Ik heb altijd een voorliefde voor natuur gehad. In mijn foto’s probeer ik beide passies dan ook te verenigen. Reizen stond altijd in het teken van fotografie. Vooral IJsland kon me bekoren…

Na een foutgelopen operatie aan mijn halswervels ben ik verlamd vanaf mijn schouders. Ik ben dan ook niet in staat om te fotograferen zoals voordien. Maar met enkele technologische hulpmiddelen kan ik wel mijn grote catalogus aan foto’s verder bewerken in Lightroom. Daar ben ik nu hard mee bezig zodat ik steeds nieuwe foto’s op deze website kan plaatsen.

In de nabije toekomst wil ik mij specialiseren in microfotografie en blijf ik positief op zoek naar andere fotografische mogelijkheden…

I grew up in a creative family. My father was a teacher and painter, so from a young age I had some creative hobbies. When I was 18 years old, I was able to use my father’s photo camera for a while, and I never stopped taking photos since.

I studied to be a science teacher, but photography has determined my life. After working in a photo shop for 25 years, I taught photography in adult education for 15 years. I co-founded the photography club Focus8 vzw and also organised many photography courses in other photo clubs.

I have always had a love for nature. In my photos I tried to unite both passions. Travel has always been about photography. I especially liked Iceland…

After an operation on my cervical vertebrae went wrong, I am now paralysed from the shoulders down. I am therefore not able to photograph as before. But with some technological tools I can further edit my large catalog of photos in Lightroom and I am able to keep adding new photos to this website.

In the near future I want to specialise in microphotography and keep looking for other photographic opportunities…
